While it's true - this trend study doesn't tell us how many of the "center-right nation" references are saying this is "not a center-right nation." But a look through Lexis-Nexis shows it's safe to assume that the vast majority of these references are asserting this is a "center-right nation."
So we're not talking about theory anymore - we're talking about empirical fact. The media has exponentially increased the amount of times it claims that this country is a "center-right nation" - at the very same time public opinion data shows the country is a decidedly center-left nation. In short, we have the two hard data points proving that as the country has become more progressive and validated its progressivism on election day, the media has increased its claims that the nation is conservative.

I have heard in all forms of media, and different citizens that Racism has finally met its end, or is closer to be gone, or is nearly gone because of the an African American being elected president? This statement has been said in as racism, not just racism against African-Americans. Which begs the question is the above opinion of many Americans, and news agencies true? Even though many others suffer racism and oppression in the United States. Chinatowns across America have people suffering. Whether illegal or legal, immigrants who reside in many Chinatowns, most notable in LA and NYC, suffer at the hands of the Triad. Oppressed to the point of not being able to vote, learn english etc... These are true and not make believe. As well there is racism in the African-American community, not saying all African-Amercians but its there. Racism towards immigrants and decedents of Oriental nations, ie: China, Japan, Korea etc... Not to mention bigotry against lighter-skinned African-Americans. While this form of bigotry is more prominent in Africa, it is not a stretch to see it happen in America. There are many others, Hispanics, and Native-Americans etc.. that suffer from racism so is it truly gone or defeated?

Liberals are always talking about how Fox News is so biased but what about The View.
They have 3 Liberal Women on the show and they all gang up on Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Elisabeth can hardly even get a word in on that show. Nobody complains about them being biased.
I mean they basically gave Obama a free pass while he was on but when the McCain's went on that show (which was stupid, by the way), they hold their feet to the fire. How fair is that?
Also MSNBC, CNN, NBC, and CBS are all liberal stations and they are always biased. Have you seen Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. Hello?

In the TV news here in Colombia I heard this girl of the World news saying everybody is worried that the Iranians already have the tech and skills to produce the Bomb. I got kind of amazed/surprised of hearing that because
2) I'm against nuclear weapons and the alike stuff but man let's be realistic: they exist; many have them; there are already more than enough to make THE big waste so why being SPECIALLY worried about one new member joining the nuke club?
3) Uhhh, the Iranians got nukes mommy hug me I'm sooo scared! Sorry but after all the TV News, Hollywood, video games and other media I've munched my life long, I'm not still convinced that the Iranians are crazy. And if they're, they're not crazy enough to use the Bomb. And if they're crazy enough, they're certainly not crazier than the US -which HAS ALREADY used it- and probably will have less toys.
Why should we be SPECIALLY worried about Iran getting the Bomb, and not be SPECIALLY worried about other nations having it? If the US is granted the right to have nukes without facing complaints and booos from high orgs and wide media, why Iran is not?

I've heard the news media use the word "depression" for the first time. A senator also mentioned a depression could happen if the automotive industry collapsed.
for one sad shred that will mirror what they already think. For example, people who say the media is biased...while I have some issues with media being a for profit industry - it seems like FOX news is popular for telling a certain group of people what they want to hear.
Therefor people watch news that will mirror what they already thought, as opposed to give them facts. For example, pairing intelligent conservative debators with the least qualified liberal debators so that they automatically will lose is an example that happens there. So, why is it so hard for people to be fair? Why cannot people make concessions to another party being right. I am liberal but some conservative ideas make sense. Why cant we discuss it in that manner rather than insulting each other? Why are people so attached to a position that depite facts the idea of letting it go is as if their whole identity is crumbling? Your thoughts.
EXAMPLES FROM BELOW - Lily is an example - instead of answering. She has said that liberals want welfare - when of course this is not a fact. I put myself through school, as did many others and we have a democratic Pres now. She proved my point.

No - actually I watch Fox news . Thats how I know. I watch Hannity and their general news reel. That's how I know. No one had to tell me.
I actually do believe that FOX is more biased than teh others. My main evidence for that being that they are but one station. If it was the case that all the media is biased than why is only one biased to the right when half our country is conservative? It is my belief they are extremely right biased and the other stations are biased depending on the slant they feel like giving that day. I dont think all he other stations are biased to the left..

To be honest i love a bit of gossip like most people but am not impressed by the recent media attention on this subject. I feel our country is crumbling under and there are children being held up for ransom or killed due to lack of communications between different agencies and yet the main headlines are about some naff tv show and a guy who lets face it dances like a majority of white straight british men.It was all supposed to be a bit of fun. But has become ridiculous due to media coverage.

How is it that this person a "child" going to get a fair trail if his illegal interrogation video is release to the media to splash all over the TV. This is one reason I hate the media! This kid won't get a fair trail.
There are objective facts, and how society and/or government responds to these facts determines much about peoples' lives. I'll clarify by example - during 2005-2006, when the situation in Iraq was quite clearly deteriorating rapidly, the right constantly complained about how the media's constant coverage of the deluge of killings, bombings, IED attacks, etc. was indicative of "liberal bias." The obvious problem with this is that the news really was bad, and it was a result of the ineptitude of the neocons. Instead, they often insisted, the media should cover "positive" events such as restoration of electricity to parts of the country - but leave out the bit about how essential services were still weren't fully restored years after they'd been destroyed by the US. I mean, I know it's a newsworthy event every time I turn the lights turn on after I flip the switch, but aren't Marines getting blown up on the regular a bit more newsworthy?
More recently, the right was aghast that, during an accelerating downward economic spiral, the media (sans Murdoch's outlets, naturally) wasn't obsessing over Barack Obama's supposedly dubious acquaintances, such as Bill "Unrepentant Domestic Terrorist" Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright. Apparently, the fact that the press realizes that one can know someone without necessarily agreeing with or supporting everything they say or do, and/or that someone doing or saying something wrong doesn't mean they're a monster that should be shunned by society, is outrageous to them.
Yet another telling example from the campaign is how the conservative true believers frequently complained about the lack of positive coverage of John McCain. However, that is the price a candidate pays when they run an entirely negative campaign. Had the media covered a completely negative campaign in a positive light, they wouldn't have been providing objective coverage, now would they?
What I'm getting at here is that objectivity does not mean that two opposing political parties and their respective policies will necessarily be covered in an equally positive manner, as one may really be better or worse (insofar as common interests are concerned) than the other. If I were a scientist and the results of my experiments and analysis clearly favored one of two competing theories, I would not be being objective if I said that the results were inconclusive.
Likewise, a reporter would not be being objective if the weight of the evidence clearly favored the policies of one political party over the other. So, why do conservatives still continue to insist on the existence of some "liberal bias" whenever press coverage casts them in a negative light, what evidence do they have to substantiate this claim (keeping in mind that negative coverage isn't necessarily indicative of bias), and why does the media so often cow to their implicit demand for "50/50" coverage?
I suppose the even more relevant is the question: "why can't conservatives accept that their ideas and policies have failed in practice and produced unintended consequences, and then go back to the drawing board?"
To reiterate - I don't dispute that certain prominent news outlets were generally supportive of Obama's candidacy; however, that is not necessarily evidence of inherent bias. He was just the better candidate, he demonstrated a much clearer understanding of the dynamics at work in the modern world, his policies were in tune with reality, he inspired billions the world over (contra the right's jealousy, that is hardly irrelevant) and has a much better chance of advancing US interests than McCain would have.
