Hello World,
I was wondering if anyone has a picture of any label, like nutrition facts label, that has any of the following elements.
--Scandium
--Yttrium
--Lanthanum
--Actinium
--Vanadium
--Niobium
--Tantalum
--Dubnium
I went to a flea market today. They always have the "breeders" out there with their puppies. They sell ACA registered puppies mostly. One man had Brussels Griffon (he pronounced it Griffen) for $200, ACA.
One lady wanted 600.00 for an ACA Brussels Griffon also.
These are backyard breeders, right? They were even feeding Puppy Chow. No real breeder would feel that crap to dogs ( I work in the animal nutrition industry and know better!)
Hardly any were AKC. One lady was selling mixed breed large breed dogs for $100.00
Arent these people selfish? These foreigners just go out there and are stupid enough to fund this idiocracy.
What do YOU think?
I am from Peru and I want to start a non profit organization in South America. I want the children to have proper education, health and nutrition. I have no idea where to start... I dont want to ask my friend anymore cause they only give me negative thoughts about it... Any ideas?
I have a horse at my place who is destroying everything by chewing. He never used to chew until he came 2 months ago. At first, we thought it was a lack of nutrition, so he was put back on the multi purpose supplement he was on before he came and we put him on Quitt. That seemed to work for a little while, but he's back at it again. He plays with my horse and toys all the time, and nothing's changed feed-wise. Any other suggestions on how to stop him??
For the record...he's NOT cribbing, he chewing, two very different vices. =] I've tried some sprays made with dish soap and hot sauce and stuff, but he liked it. We're gonna try putting chicken wire around the tree he's been chewing and metal on the stall doors and see if he's just going to find somewhere else to chew.
Thanks. =]

Hey, ReDirk, I'd love to show you the site, and the stretches. The problem Is SO many people feel it's impossible, that it is never tried. There are stretches and ways that you can lengthen your spine, legs, and torso, which in turn make you taller. Also, at the age from about 5-21, you basicly just grow... I'm 15, so I'm not done. I've already gained 1/4 of an inch doing this. Also, going to bed from 9-12 is great, because 9-12 is when you grow most. So it only helps, of course, to have Vitamin D, Calcium, and NATURAL HGH, which occurs in Green Peas.
Hey, It works!
All your questions are resolved and your emails blocked, so how should I show you them?
My computer has no Virus Protection, and the god **** ******** internet keeps redirecting to some ****.
UGH. just really annoying.
Basiclly it talks about a few things I already mentioned. That people think it's impossible, and never try it... etc., Then the stretches are:
Back Extension (Those stretches you do In PE that you push up on your hands)
Back Extension on toes (Same thing, just be extending on toes, not on flat legs.)
The Table (That gymnastic-type stretch)
The bow down (Toe-touch)
Lean way back(Basicly just the name)
Tip-toe reach( get on your tip-toes, and extend your arms waay up.)
wall climb (lean laterally against the wall, and make one arm go as far up the wall is it can)
wingspan circles (make your arms go straight out, pull on them outward while making them circle.)
head pull circles(same)
Bar hang w/ ankle weights(Hang on your pull-up bar. Estimated you need 30 minutes a week. for spine)
High Kicks (good for legs.)
P.E. Stretches (u know)
Jump Rope (same as sprints)
Sprint (Naturally makes bodys HGH release and work)
Go to bed at 10:30, and have this to eat at 9:00
9:00: Gummy Vites, Lucky Charms, apple, green peas, and yogurt. Then peform exercises, bed at 10:30
9:00: Gummy Vites, Lucky Charms, apple, green peas, and yogurt. Then peform exercises, bed at 10:30
Calcium Gummy Vites, at Price Club/Costco
Lucky Charms, (Lots of calcium Vit. D, PLUS the milk.)
apple (Natural ingrediants make taller. largly contributed to making animals taller that eat them)
green peas (Natural HGH)
Yoplaiy yogurt (Lots of calcium, Vit. D)
I am a male about 5' 10" 130lbs. I am rather skinny but I don't eat very well. I know I have bad depression and have no appetite. I have lately been forcing myself to eat, but what is the question. I need Vitamins and nutrients, I need to keep my levels as they should be. Problem is how much? I need to gain weight so I'm not weight watching. But I don't want pure junk food. I don't know how much of each daily vitamin or mineral I need, but a list of a great days worth of food will help just as well. I know about the food pyramid but how much of each type of thing. I can't have like 10 bananas for my daily recommended potassium (I know the daily on that cause I was hospitalized for low potassium and extremely low Sodium.) But, I want like what I should have for breakfast, lunch dinner, what's well rounded? I don't' know the nutrients any of the foods have. I love pasta but what nutrition really is in it? So if anyone can help with a list of foods I should eat on a daily basis, or with how much of vitamins/minerals for daily % I should be having, it would be much appreciated. I also need to gain a good 20-30 lbs so, if you have any info on that as well. Thanks.
I need some creative ideas for an informative speech. My teacher is really picky on the topic choice because he likes it to be something someone hasn't done before. He doesn't like the nutrition, alcohol, and drug themes. I am a 10th grader. Thanks for the help
I am just asking for some topics, not for you to write one; it isn't cheating. Thanks anyway

Hey, sure I will. You're e-mails blocked, and you diddnt ask any questions, so I can't yet. Why don't you ask a question.
By the way, I'm just interested In seeing what people Do. I don't change my whole program Untill its easy, to shock my muscles.
I live in residence at university, and we're on a mealplan. We're offered all sorts of food: there's a salad bar, soup, home-made type foods, burgers and fries, sandwiches, snacks, etc.
One of my best friends is starting to eat rather sporadically, missing meals, eating pastries and chips rather than actual food, and is constantly drinking coffee to keep himself awake.
We all have pretty terrible sleeping patterns, but lately he's been unable to get to sleep until 5 or 6 am, sleeping in really late, sometimes missing breakfast and lunch altogether.
I'm worried about him - I've told him but he claims to be fine.
I'm concerned about his health, and wondering if the insomnia is a result of poor nutrition, or if something even worse could come of it.
Are there any good superfoods out there that I might get him to try that would cover his bases so that he wont get SCURVY OR SOMETHING TERRIBLE!!?
Any suggestions? And does anyone know what other problems could arise that I should be looking out for?
Thanks very much in advance!!
I want to have everything all ready but I'm not sure what to buy. I saw the Swaddlers diapers in the store and they looked good. But I'm really big on saving money and buying generic whenever I can. Is there another type of diaper that would work just as well for a newborn?
I have the same question about formula, but of course that is more important. I would really like to buy generic (or at least something on the cheap side), but I'm certainly not going to sacrifice his nutrition to save a few cents (note: unfortunately breastfeeding is not an option for me).
The places I usually shop are Sam's Club, Target, and Walmart, so brands that are available there are most convenient.
Thanks so much!
Please read this. It is really personal. But i need to know whats wrong with me.
I used to eat whatever i wanted, and loved the way i looked. All of a sudden, i just started to get into fittness. As time went on, it got worse and worse. And now every second of every day, worry is constantly on my mind of my weight.
I despise my body appearence. I get so mad at myself.
I eat really really low calories each day. sometimes i try to eat like nothing, but then I end up giving up and eating more than I would have if I had eaten a normal meal. I know I shouldn't do it, but sometimes I get so fed up with myself I feel like I have to.
My family got involved a while back, but they think that i am totally find now. I sometimes even pretend to eat, so it seems like i did. I read all the nutrition facts. I always feel like people are looking at me and thinking "has she heard of the word diet?"
Sometimes I try to make myself throw up. But it never comes out. I do lundges, pushups, jumping jacks, squats, and sit ups everynight.
Last night i had 3 bowls of cereal and beat myself up for it. I went to sleep crying and being so mad at myself. I ran 5 miles today to burn it off.
I cant really talk to anyone about this because if i taked to my family, they would just get mad at me again like last time. My sister would ignore me, and wont talk to me until i stop. And i dont know how to stop. I dont know what to do.
I don't know if I have a disorder or not but people constantly tell me I look perfect and stuff so I think I may have a bad view of myself. I am 14 years old, 5'7, and 120 pounds.
Please gice me your thoughts, opinions, answers, and inputs. I will really appreicatate it. thank you. so much.
my cat is about 4 months old.....i already went to the vet and gave me some medication...but it doesnt seem to work...i gave my kitty glucose and some nutrition food as consulted by the vet...but nothing seems to be working.....his anus seem to flow some liquid form of poop, and it continues to flow as if it is pee-ing all d time from his bum....should i juz let him cure himself or i should do something??coz,my previous cat had diarrhoea and she cured herself, she's about the same age....but im afraid if i dont do anything my current kitty will die....i LOVE HIM SO MUCH!he's the sweetest cat that i have...please tell me any method to cure him....tell me what to do.....

I like this one girl and she isn't in any of my classes but, I see her at lunch and nutrition. She is gorgeous but, I don't have the guts to talk to her. She already knows I like her, yet she hasn't spoken to me or anything...
Last summer I went on a mission trip down to a third world country with a church. We built houses. At lunch if we had extras we couldn't give it to the people, because there weren't enough extras to go around. One day we have rice beans and a little bit of meat. The meat and the fat from it flavored the whole thing, so it smelled and all tasted sort of meaty. Two adults dogs were at our work site, both terribly skinny, one a mother of pups less than a week old and one the mother of a puppy who might have been a month old. We decided since we couldn't give our food the the people we would give it to the dogs. We gathered the food and gave it to the dogs. We figured they needed fat and protein and the beans and rice would have alot of that. To our surprise they picked through the whole thing and only ate the teeny pieces of meat that they could find, then left the rest for the chickens to clean up. If you showed the same food(rice, beans and bits of meat) to an American dog, chances are he'd scarf the whole thing down without a second thought. Why didn't the dogs eat the rice and beans? they were covered in and smelled like animal fat, and they desperately need the food, why would a needy dog not eat it, while a spoiled pet would?
First poster, they were black beans, which do have a lot of protein
Second poster, would your dog eat them if they were slathered in animal fat?
I am 28 weeks (as of 11/24/08) and I am currently under the care of my regular OB/Gyn. I did not realize that even though things have been ok that I am considered high risk just because of the twins. He has been a great Dr. with my other three boys and has been in practice forever (seriously since like 1968) so I have no doubt about his experience. But I am concerned because he has not gone over any nutrition information (which is apparently vital with with a multiple pregnancy). I have only gained 4 lbs and he is very pleased with this (as I was overweight to begin with by about 70 lbs), but has not gone over expectations or things I should be eating (like a ton of protein which I only recently learned I should be doing). I also just read that by now I should be being seen every other week and he still has me being seen every month. I am not sure what I should do if I should talk to him about a specialist or what. I am really confused. there is so little information about twin pregnancies that it is only recently that I found the information I have needed all along (multiples birth education class and a recommended book by Dr. Barbara Luke). I am really bummed and hoping I that I am doing the right thing for these babies and that it is not too late. With your twins, did you see your regular OB or a specialist?
My 10 months old daughter often decides not to eat her lunch or to have just a few spoons of it and then shaking the head and stop eating. What do you do in that case? Do you offer something else that you know he/she will like so that they get nutrition out of that (bottle/different meal) or do you just let them be and wait for the next feed? For example she loves cheese on toast. But she can't have ONLY that. It's nothing like she's not ready, she can chew with 1 tooth and gum better than I do. she can manage pretty much everything.
she's just 'picky' if you want to call it that.Solutions?
I sit alone at nutrition and lunch at high school, Im a new student and im in 12th grade, I moved from Georgia to California and I'm a loner. I have been all year and I miss my friends in georgia. I'm really pretty and I was really popular back in Georgia, these girls who were coming down the steps called me a loner and threw food at me.. I couldnt do anything because it was a big group of girls that could have beat me up :( everyday they see me there and they yell loner when I dont even know them, one day this football player(who is really popular i think) dressed up on gameday saw it happen, and he knew the girls so he told them to "seriously stop messing with her" then he came up to me and asked me my name and I told him my name..we talked for the rest of lunch but i was a little shy because he was the first person to talk to me, and he actually stayed with me for 20 minutes does he like me or just friendly? :]

I got arrested for felony retail theft 2 months ago. I recently got a plea bargain from the states attorney, I can either choose to plea guilty to count 1 which is a felony charge and not go to jail or I can plea guilty to a class a misdemeanor and go to jail for 30 days. Im currently 18 weeks pregnant and Im concerned being in jail will affect my baby by not getting the proper medical care I need or the right nutrition. I don't know what to do because I know that a felony conviction will make it really hard for me to find work after the baby is born. Please help.
im looking for something with the same nutrition as a normal diet. ive even heard of guantanamo bay prisoners being fed this to substitute a normal diet.
Does anyone know what supplements/vitamins might help someone that has Celiacs disease? Or juices to make in the juicer?
Just looking for something to help me. Thanks in advance!
;)
What's a good nutrition plan for someone just starting out? Like what should i eat from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep? I have the protein part covered, but like what should I eat for everything else? I can't just eat meat all day... and also is drinking milk good?
Let's say a half hour of powerwalking vs. a half hour of biking. They're both on the same road. Which one will drop fat and/or lessen the size of my upper thighs quickest? I'll take care of nutrition. I'll do this3 -5x a week.
For my college nutrition class, I'm writing a paper on the ways I as a student can reduce world hunger locally, nationally, and internationally.
My thesis, I suppose (it's not a strong one), is: "Even on a college student’s budget hunger can be reduced locally, nationally, and internationally."
In my next sentence, I want to say something along the lines of, "Let's focus a bit on each locale."... using "locale" to encompass "locally, nationally, and internationally."
If that is incorrect, can you please suggest a better word or sentence?
Thank you!
Or do I even need a sentence after my thesis to lead into the body?
It's world hunger. Sorry. I didn't feel a need to include that in the thesis statement since I precede it with an introduction about world hunger, but I suppose I really should. Thanks!
I have tried excercise, proper nutrition, follow same sleeping patterns but i have been unable to stop my depression. Should I get a proper help from a pdoc?
my understanding is that saturated fat and sugar, sodium are considered unhealthy by media and we are encouraged to minimize it AMAP. but on the nutritional value of food in market says something like 30% of DV for sodium or something like that. now, is it that we do need certain amt of saturated fat, sugar, sodium and that food has 30% of sodium that we need for our body, or is it that we should avoid saturated fat, sugar, sodium, etc AMAP but since they make food taste good and we can't resist them, it's ok to take them, but just don't go over the 100% otherwise it can cause problem for our body? so, we should try to stay away from them AMAP until we can't resist? sorry for long sentence, but if anyone can help me, it will improve my understanding about nutrition.
Hey - I have to somehow find a way to use REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy) as a dietitian. As was thinking of maybe treating eating disorders with REBT or treating depression that is related to obesity with REBT but I am running out of ideas. Any suggestions of how to use REBT in the field of nutrition?
Thanks a lot!

Has anyone actually tried the supplements from Design nutrition....Specifically EJC6000? It is a joint supplement that they claim to be just like Cosequine. Their website seems to be informative, but I would like to hear from personal experiences.
Please, check out the site. It claims to "bind" toxins around the joint to prevent further damage from occurring. Whether that is in the form of Vitaman C, I'm not sure.
What is your typical diet? Do you choose healthful foods or, because you run off calories, do you eat anything?
Somehow, just starting my running program makes me want to fuel up my body properly. No junk.
How do you be sure you get the right nutrition for your energy expenditure as a runner?
*ack*
You guys are under the impression that I'm a long distance runner! I'm just starting out! No sprints!
Oh, and I have blood sugar problems, too.

Ever since I was young I have had eye pain, mostly when I do a lot of computer work, or when I watch TV, also when the light is dim I experience eye pain. What are the ways to combat this problem. Even a fan blowing in my eye causes pain.
Thank you for the replies.
Miranda Kerr is my role model. She does what I want to do in my life. She's a model and she has been quoted saying, "I've always had a burning desire to make a difference in the world". I look up to her, because I want to be a model and help the world too.
She wrote book called "Treasure Yourself" for young girls, containing her advise on nutrition, and how to imprve your self esteem and better your life. Miranda was quoted saying, "Basically, it's a whole lot of information that I've found, that has helped me. If I can help one girl by doing this then I've completed my purpose". I think that's amazing of her. It shows she truely cares and only wants the best for today's young girls.
She also showed her support for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She featured in this years edition of the Austrailian Pink Magazine. When I discovered this, I only adored her even more. I love that she cares about today's real life issues.
I know she is also involved with a children's charity. She wants to help kids. How sweet! I really appreciate that about her.
Also, nevertheless, Miranda is beautiful. She is an incredible model. She really knows how to work the runway and be fierce. She's gorgeous.
I was wondering why i am going bald at such a young age. i started loosing hair when i was only 14 years old and now im 17 and its getting really bad.It is only really the front tho, like a windows peak. do u think it could be beause of my skin because i have very sensitive skin?
If you have any ideas why this is happening to me i would really like to know, and what i should do about it. and shaving my head isnt really an option because my ears skick out to.
and its definitly not because of mal nutrition because i am a healthy eater and i am in great shape.
"...a man's diet tends to become healthier when he starts cohabiting with a female partner - and her influence has a long-term positive impact.
women have the strongest long-term influence over the couple's diet and lifestyle, mainly because the majority of female partners still assume the traditional role of food shopper and cook.
The report, by Newcastle University's Human Nutrition Research Centre, is published in the health professional title Complete Nutrition.
The research shows that women are more likely to put on weight and increase their consumption of foods high in fat and sugar when they move in with their partner. Men, on the other hand, report a reduction in 'bad foods' when they begin to cohabit, reducing fat and sugar and increasing consumption of vegetables.
The reason for the change in dietary habits, say experts, is that both partners try to please each other during the 'honeymoon period' at the start of a cohabiting relationship, by adjusting their routine to suit their partner and eating food that he or she likes."

I've been thinking on taking a weight gainer but i dont kno when/how to take it. i've been taking protein shakes for a long time but i heard weight gainers are different. also i was gonna take optimum nutritions serious mass. any reviews on that? does it work?
My doctor gave me a handout and in it there is guidelines for feeding infants, about how to start solids, etc. Its from the Wyeth Infant Nutrition book. Anyway, it says at 4 months to start on small amounts of vitaminized apple juice mixed with equal amounts of water. 1 to 2 oz as accepted.
Everywhere else (online, books) says not to give infants under 6 months any juice at all, only formula or breastmilk.
first of all im 15, in fact just today, i want to know what types of workout/ nutrition schedules should i use in order to be in the army. push-ups, sit-ups, side- bridges, and equipment i need for working out. and while im on the subject of work out equipment does the perfect push-up really work, and if so would the perfect pull-up work to. thank u in advance for answering this.

For the last 15 years, Dawn Jackson Blatner has been what's now called a "flexitarian" or "almost vegetarian." (CAN YOU SAY OXYMORON?) She eats lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts, barbecued tempeh and veggie burgers with guacamole. But she sometimes indulges in a pork chop or her grandma's pot roast.
It might seem like being a vegetarian of convenience isn't particularly inspiring, but a growing number of experts and even some famous foodies are fans. They say that cutting back on meat, rather than abstaining completely, may be a practical compromise that benefits our bodies and our environment.
"It gives you the health benefits of a vegetarian diet without having to follow the strict rules," (WHY IS IT CONCIDERED STRICKED? YOU CAN EAT JUST BOUT EVERYTHING YOU WANT. EVER HEARD OF MEATLESS MEATS PPL!?!?!) says Blatner, a registered dietitian and author of "The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian Way to Lose Weight, Be Healthier, Prevent Disease, and Add Years to Your Life" (McGraw-Hill, October 2008). "We know that people live longer and live healthier when they eat vegetarian, but it's just too darn hard to do it 100 percent of the time."
Even gourmet food writers, used to nightly courses of filets and pates, are advocating the eat-less-meat movement. In January, Mark Bittman, author of "How to Cook Everything" (Wiley, 1998), is coming out with new book called "Food Matters," (Simon & Schuster) about how our diet affects global warming and "globesity" (global obesity). Bittman has been very critical of what he calls America's "meat guzzling" tendencies. "I am an advocate of what I like to think of as a much saner diet—a largely plant-based diet," he says. A meat-based diet is, he says, "not even close to sustainable." Last year, Bittman published "How to Cook Everything Vegetarian," (Wiley, 2007), though he is not a vegetarian himself.
Bittman notes that Americans eat about 200 pounds of meat, poultry and fish a year—twice as much as the global average (YUCK!). He argues that not only is a heavily vegetable diet healthier for us physically, but that it's also true that the industrial production and processing of grain-fed livestock consumes a huge amount energy and has a negative impact on the environment (NEGATIVE IMPACT!!!).
It's unclear how many people are official "flexitarian" converts, but nutritionists believe there are a growing number of people who are simply eating fewer meat entrees whether it's for health, or economic reasons or because there are more good meatless dishes on offer. Think how many Americans regularly eat peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches, pasta, bean burritos and cheese pizzas as their main courses, says Blatner. "I do feel like that is a shocking thing, when you think about how much vegetarian food we eat without even trying." (THIS IS THE SAME GUY WHO SAID VEGETARIANISM WAS STRICT?!?!)
And while only 2 to 3 percent of Americans are traditional vegetarians, who shun anything that ever had a face, according to the Vegetarian Resource Group, vegetarian foods have become increasingly popular among non-vegetarians. "If you look around at every regular, mainstream grocery store, you have soy milk right next to regular milk, you have veggie burgers in the frozen section, and tubs of tofu sitting there in the produce section," says Blatner. She suggests that many of those who buy these products may be flextitarians and not even realize it. Even dedicated vegetarians say they are somewhat flexible. A 2003 study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that two out of three vegetarians say they can't stick to a pure veggie diet all the time (DO YOU THINK THIS IS TRUE?).
Some vegetarian advocates hope that a movement that begins with eating less meat might lead to more people embracing a no-meat, no-fish and no-fowl lifestyle. Vegetarian Resource Group co-director Charles Stahler, calls it a "step in the right direction." It should also inspire even more restaurants to create veggie options, and more people to realize that it's "easy to be a vegetarian," he says. In fact, it already has become a bit easier for gourmet food lovers to find good meatless entrees. Last year a National Restaurant Association survey found that more than 50 percent of chefs rate vegetarian entries among their top 10 trendiest menu items (I THOUGHT THIS WAS INTERESTING).
Still, not everyone agrees that it's a great idea to be mostly vegetarian instead of going whole hog—so to speak. "Given the environmental, cruelty and health impact of a meat-based diet, going vegan is best, going vegetarian is good, and being a flexitarian is like smoking two packs of cigarettes instead of ten, beating one pig down the slaughter ramp instead of two, and pouring a p

Unfortunately, there is highly inaccurate and misleading information circulating on the Internet regarding our feeding studies, and I’m glad you’ve given me the opportunity to provide you with the facts. We too are passionate about cats and dogs, with a deep commitment to their health and welfare.
We are accountable for making sure that our products are wholesome, and that consumers can feed them with confidence. Instead of contracting other companies to conduct our feeding studies, we choose to conduct such studies in the homes of our employee families. Today, over 600 employee families participate in our in-home testing program.
Even though the vast majority of our studies are conducted in an in-home setting, there are some studies that require in-depth data gathering in a more controlled environment. We do this type of feeding study in our company-owned Pet Health and Nutrition Center . These studies follow our industry leading research protocol and are the veterinary equivalent of nutritional or medical studies acceptable on people. The studies are monitored by our own staff of veterinarians, behaviorists and independent experts.
Our Pet Health and Nutrition Center is a state-of-the-art facility. Our dogs and cats live in a cageless environment, receiving proper socialization in an enriched setting.
Because dogs are pack animals, our dogs are housed with a companion. Each kennel has a doggie-door that takes them to an outside run, giving them lots of room for running and playing. Each dog is provided with his or her own toys (rotated on a regular basis) and their very own comfortable bed to sleep on. There is also a dog park adjacent to the kennels where the dogs play and interact each day in play groups.
Our cats are housed in compatible social groups. Each room is furnished with beds, toys (to stimulate play) and several perches, which allow our cats to observe things from a higher viewpoint. Each cat room also has a very large window with a platform where our cats can lay in the sun or watch the birds feeding at the outside bird feeders.
All of our dogs and cats reach a point in their life when it’s time to leave the Pet Health and Nutrition Center . That is when they are either adopted into a home or placed into our retirement facility. Either way, they will live out their lives in comfort with good food, good companionship, and good veterinary care.
In 2007 we had several members of the news media tour our facility. Their reports are available at:
