We have talked about having a baby for quite sometime now but he has wanted to wait for awhile. I have ovarian/uterine/cervical cancer on both sides of my family however and need to let him know that I don't want to wait too long because of fear of getting these problems. My sister is 26 and is having a hysterectomy this month. Any advice on how to approach him about this? thank you
I went to the doctor on Thursday to talk to the doctor about my concern of having endometriosis. My mom had it and I have ALWAYS had very irregular periods like occuring very two months, painful sex, painful cramps and back pains, urgency/frequency of urination and bowel problesm, etc. As of the appointment, I still had not had a period. We then went into the exam room and she said she was going to do a pap, cultures, and typical annual exam. She inserted 2 fingers first, swabbed quickly (1 min, tops) and stopped the exam. She said that my uterus was tilted pretty far back and she wanted to do and ultrasound and surgery within the next two months. YIKES! So, now I am curious as to how severe my endometriosis is?? I am almost 24 and have been experiencing this for nearly 10 years. Do you think I am going to be completely infertile? Will invitro even be a successful option? I am also worried about uterine, cervical, ovarian, and breast cancer now! What do you guys think? Thanks...
or do I need to see a specialist?
My mom had cervical cancer and uterine fibroids which resulted in her having a partial hysterectomy at the age of 38. My maternal grandmother had ovarian cysts and endometriosis and had a hysterectomy at 35, my aunt has uterine cysts and a host of other uterine problems and she is scheduled to have a hysterectomy next month.
I am 25 and having irregular periods, painful intercourse with my husband and cramps, sore breasts and my period didn't come this month and was very light last month. I took a preg test today and it was negative. I'm worried that I might have endometriosis or uterine fibroids like the other women in my family and I don't want to have a hysterectomy. I am 25 and want to have children one day. These are the same symptoms that my mom had when she was my age.
Can my family doctor do a trans-vaginal probe ultrasound or do I need to see a specialist?
Well, it's like this, every time i have my period, i have extreme pain in my abdomen. i do not usually get this and when i do, it only lasts for about half an hour. after wards, i always find a lump of 'meat'. again, my GP says that it may simply be a blood clot, but what i get looks like a miniature fillet! it is not small, the smallest one was about 1cm long. i have had this since i was 17. what could it be? Ovarian cancer? Cervical Cancer? a Uterine cancer? Please help.
Im fom Africa.my mother was diagonised with breast, uterine, cervical &ovarian cancer within the past four years.now she is suffering from depression. My sister was diagonised with stage one cervical cancer .when my mother first suspected breast cancer, I told her not to worry that it was nothing , three monts later, it was progressed to stage 3.I realised how women in Africa and other 3rd world countries are dying because they lack education and information on cancer and several other diseases that are number one in killing women.my mother is still alive & lucky, coz we had education & some money & information on cancer.when I came to America, that is when my eyes really opened to see how devastaing cancer of any kind is and how it destroys everything.my mother had her chemo but never had radiation coz machines in my country broke down.she never had reconstructive surgery for her breasts and she is still suffering.she is the reason I need to start a charity.how do I start one .INFO PLZ
has anyone had cervical , uterine or ovarian cancer and what were your symptoms?
or has anyone had a month of spotting then started to bleed continually, like a heavy period that doesnt ever stop...and what was your diagnosis?
there is no infection, and have been seen by gp and am awaiting colposcopy, but the bleeding is getting worse. gp thought was erosion, and checked for infection and gave a pill change, no mention of further treatment, but when he got the nurse to examine me they decided i needed colposcopy...because the bleeding is increasing dramatically im starting to really worry.
I've always been a calm, collected person.
I know a a lot about medicine (especially for a 17 year old), and have never been scared of any medical problem.
I've had numerous chronic pain conditions, insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, back problems, depression, and chronic "feeling like crap".
You'd think not much would phase me, but I am scared S#ITLESS right now.
Last week, during a CT scan for what we thought might be a hernia, they found a 5.6 cm "pelvic cyst" (we're schedualing a pelvic CT to get a better pic).
My grandmother died of ovarian/uterine/cervical cancer.
My aunt had it, it spread to the rest of her body, eventually her brain.
She died.
My mother has had LOTS of cysts.
What is the prevalence of cancerous pelvic cysts in teenagers?
Have any of you had cysts?
How are they removed?
Is removal painful?
Thank you for any answers, your input is VERY appreciated

I have been thinking and us women have the short end of the stick... here is why
Women-
Periods
Child Birth
Dealing with dead beat dads who don't pay child support/don't take care of their kids
Cervical Cancer(at very young ages, very hard to cure)
Ovarian Cancer(at very young ages, very hard to cure)
Uterine Cancer
Breast Cancer(no need to say anything here)
menopause
HPV
PID
Heart Disease(#1 killer in women)
Men
Prostate cancer(by time they have to worry about this they are so old it doesn't matter)
Colon cancer(which is VERY curable if caught early on)
and OH MY GOD..............IF THEY KNOCK UP A CHICK THEY "HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT" OR ATLEAST PAY CHILD SUPPORT.....THAT IS NOT FAIR HUH? JUST BECAUSE I MADE THAT BABY SHOULDN'T MEAN I NEED TO TAKE CARE OF IT........
ALSO, MEN AVOID TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR KIDS LIKE THE POOR KID IS CANCER. I READ A QUESTION ON HERE WHERE A GUY ASKED "HOW CAN I GET MY CHILD SUPPORT LOWERED". EXCUSE ME?
Oh yeah I did forget Yeat Infections..sorry :)

Actually I did not get left buy a man. Why does it always have to be the womens responsibility for birth control? People get on women more about birth control than men.
